This is a one-night-only event. Saturday, April 8, 2023, 8pm
We will be honoring Fleetwood Mac's own Christine McVie.
The Dead Musicians Society was created to honor the passing of profound and influential musical talents. The show features a number of hand-picked singers who sync with the celebrated icon's voice and vibe. There will be two short solo sets and then a full band of LA's best players will join the singers to do a retrospective of the honoree's musical catalog.
Many people don't realize that McVie was the writer behind a majority of Fleetwood Mac's hits. Songs like: Over My Head, Songbird, You Make Loving Fun, Say You Love Me, Oh Daddy, Hold Me, Little Lies, The Chain, Don't Stop, and dozens more.
We are thrilled to have two of Southern California's best voices on the show - Claire Holley and Emily Zuzik.
Emily Zuzik - As a singer-songwriter, her music captures the film-noir essence of Los Angeles haunted past infused with the soul of the Memphis Stax sound. Her songs compel and engage as they call to mind her musical kinship with Carole King and Rickie Lee Jones. Her voice is warm as she seduces the listener in a way reminiscent of Sheryl Crow and Liz Phair.
Claire Holley - Claire has a firm grip on the musical vocabulary and storytelling obsession of the South. And like any great Southern Character, shes as complicated as the recipe for sour mash whiskey. - Paste Magazine
